Bob Watson remains musically consistent as he and his band cover everyone from Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Denver to Chuck Berry and Tom Jones on this private pressing from Ft Lauderdale, Florida circa 1971. Bob and the fellas are a country outfit, first and formost, however you can hear nods to other genres including folk, soul, and even hints of Lee Hazelwood-ian cowboy psychedelia. 

The highlight of this release the is the lone original composition, a two minute downer titled Man About Town, a spooky ballad written by Watson. He sings from the perspective of a ramblin' dark cowboy who feels alienated by one night stands, and a lack of authenticity in his relationships.

This forgotten Chicago musician dabbles in New Wave, Disco, Synth-Pop, and Electro-Funk in 4 catchy songs, including a killer cover of Eleanor Rigby, all while boasting "THIS ALBUM IS NOT SEQUENCED" on the back of the sleeve. The production, the songwriting, the synth work, the mullet; all of it is quite impressive. A wonder and a shame that after such a strong EP, Tieken never recorded a follow up, or was recognized for his music.

It seems that Stevie (now Steve) is still in Illinois working as an archeologist. I may contact him and follow up with more information.
