The best forgotten music, salvaged the dusty crates of resale shops, flea markets, estate sales, and garage sales.
Sometimes far off, always far out.
I upload stuff with more frequently on my Youtube page.
Orchestre Super Choucoune - MyrthoHaiti
1974 Jazz, Kompas, Méringue, Mini-Jazz "Super Choucoune is, or was, a schizophrenic sort of group, very hot at times and bourgeois-mellow at others. Myrto is variable in quality and soupy in spots, though its Hawaiian guitar-guitar-sax-organ-occasional flute is intriguing."

Wang Xu-Dong – Chinese Medical Psychosomatic Music Therapy VIII: Cancer Taiwan
1994
New Age, Healing, Chinese Classical
"Based on the principles of Chinese medical theory, Chinese Medical Psychosomatic Music Therapy series utilizes the pentameter scale to motivate the mutual interaction between Yin & Yang and the Five Elements.
This collection is specially designed for cancer patients who are undergoing recovery from surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy. It may be used by those under excessive stress to prevent psychological conditions that induce cancer. Clinical tests conducted by the Anhui Province Public Works Hospital in Mainland China, the effectiveness rate of this collection was high when used in conjunction with medication."
"The songs in this album are about life; it's the good time and the hard times; it's lost loves, and unfulfilled dreams, it's hope and despair. It's all there in life....We've put some of it on this record."
Bob Watson remains musically consistent as he and his band cover everyone from Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Denver to Chuck Berry and Tom Jones on this private pressing from Ft Lauderdale, Florida circa 1971. Bob and the fellas are a country outfit, first and formost, however you can hear nods to other genres including folk, soul, and even hints of Lee Hazelwood-ian cowboy psychedelia.
The highlight of this release the is the lone original composition, a two minute downer titled Man About Town, a spooky ballad written by Watson. He sings from the perspective of a ramblin' dark cowboy who feels alienated by one night stands, and a lack of authenticity in his relationships. Always a new love But never a true love
This forgotten Chicago musician dabbles in New Wave, Disco, Synth-Pop, and Electro-Funk in 4 catchy songs, including a killer cover of Eleanor Rigby, all while boasting "THIS ALBUM IS NOT SEQUENCED" on the back of the sleeve. The production, the songwriting, the synth work, the mullet; all of it is quite impressive. A wonder and a shame that after such a strong EP, Tieken never recorded a follow up, or was recognized for his music.
It seems that Stevie (now Steve) is still in Illinois working as an archeologist. I may contact him and follow up with more information.

On Side 1, respected pioneer of electronic music, Herbert A. Deutsch, attempts to educate the masses about tape manipulation; instead he paves the way for Macaulay Culkin in a series four of terrifying Proto-Talkboy tape studies. On Side 2, he breaks out the synthesizer and shows us why someone paid him to make Side 1.
